Viaduct de Souleuvre
Norman landscape from the Viaduct de Souleuvre. The viaduct
stands amidst intense green vegetation, surrounded by groves and
copses. Today, the site is celebrated for its bungy-jumping centre.
You can jump from the viaduct de Souleuvre and also take part
in other activities: ULM, CROSS COUNTRY KART, CANOEING, HORSE
RIDING.
Mont Saint-Michel
This rocky island is exposed to violent winds coming from
the ocean. This dungeon overlooking five leagues in every direction
has resisted time magnificently. The rock is blessed with the
name of the archangel.
Who has never heard of the Mont Saint-Michel? And yet surprise
is on every face the first time its attractive shape is spotted
in the distance set amid the sands, like a jewel in a velvet box.
An unforgettable visit full of surprises awaits you...
Suisse Normande
A region to the south of Normandy, Suisse Normande (which is nothing
like Switzerland) has been shaped by the River Orne that has deepened
the ancient crevices of the Armorican rocks. Delightful meandering
creeks will introduce you to the curves of Norman groves and copses.
A green and peaceful ramble awaits! Lots of fresh air and the
delights of Norman cuisine!
Caen Memorial
The tour starts with explanations about the period from 1918 to
1939, introducing the political situation of the period. The creation
of the SDN, the roaring 20s, the economic crises and the arrival
of Mussolini and Hitler to power. The memorial's organisation
is highly symbolic.
Then the tour moves on to France between 1940-1945, with "Drôle
de guerre", the Vichy government, life under occupation and
the French resistance and collaboration. One room focuses on deportation
and genocide of the different populations at the hands of the
Nazis.
The third area evokes the notion of global war, with the United
States and the USSR joining the fight.
The final area is dedicated to the 1944 landings on 6th June and
the Battle of Normandy with two audiovisual documents.
A memorial dedicated to peace and its fragile nature throughout
the world.

- Many chateaux, abbeys, parks and gardens throughout
Manche and Calvados.
- Bayeux Cathedral. The town of Bayeux has a historical
centre which has retained its medieval structure. Entirely spared
by the allied bombings of 1944, it displays exceptional architectural
heritage. Solemnly consecrated in 14th July 1077 in the presence
of William Duke of Normandy and King of England, the cathedral
was enlarged and embellished many times from the 13th to 15th
century.
- Queen Mathilda's tapestry in Bayeux.
For nearly 1,000 years, this immense wool embroidery has told
the tale over the centuries of William, Duke of Normandy's conquest
of England. Like a comic strip, it transports the visitor to medieval
times of Viking boats and Norman cavaliers.
